“Four years ago, when we began this bold experiment of sending a child with Down syndrome off to college, we armed her with Post-It notes that included all manner of directions and advice. Now, she helps with tours of the campus for aspiring students with disabilities. For the third year, she will be a manager of the men’s basketball team. (Thank you, guardian angel Dave Bezold.) She will attend regular-education classes with the aid of mentors. Thank you, Missy Jones.”
